Activity #1: Make A Bed For Your Doll!
Learn how to make a simple, yet creative bed for your doll! Hope your doll has sweet dreams!Supplies:
1 American Girl Doll Box
1 pillow the size of the box
2 pillow cases (Minimum)
2-6 Small stuffed animals
Step 1: Get an American girl doll box, like the ones the dolls come in. Remove the top and this will leave you with the bottom white half. If you want, you can spray paint the bottom half a different color!
Step 2: Find a long pillow, about a couple of inches longer or a couple of inches wider than the actual box. Then, simply put the pillow in the box.
Step 3: Fold one of the pillowcases so that now it is a pillow. You may want to sew a small pillow instead of this option, but if you're not very handy at sewing, kind of like me, you could just use the pillow case.
Step 4: Take one pillow case and fluff it out. This will be your comforter. You may put it on the bed however you like. You can use more than one pillow case for a cozy and layered effect.
Step 5: Arrange all of the small stuffed animals on the bed for a creative look. For instance, on Emily's bed I put small stuffed animal horses, on Kit's bed she has a few bunny rabbits, on Addy's bed I put a Lizard for who knows why!
That is all you need to know on how to make this "Simple yet creative" bed! Sweet Dreams!
Activity #2: Make a sofa for your doll!
This shabby and chic couch will have visitors to your doll's house wanting one!
Supplies:
1 Hot glue gun
4-10 glue sticks (for the glue gun)
Fabric, any pattern, any size bigger than a sheet will be fine, but you can use old pillow cases
Stuffing
Scissors
American girl doll box, the top this time
CAUTION: THE GLUE GUN IS HOT!
Step 1: Take the top of an american girl doll box. If you don't have this, any sort of box like it is fine. Then, cut off on of the sides so your box is like to one in the picture (On the left)
Step 2: Take stuffing and put it in the box (to measure how much you need) to see an example of the perfect amount look at the picture below.Take the fabric and cut it so it fits the bottom of the box, but keep 'bout 3 and a half inches hanging over the side (like in the picture>>>>>)
Step 3: Once you've done the cutting, then, take the glue gun (It may take some time to warm up) and hot glue down the fabric on the sides, scrunch them up (see the picture <<<<<) so that no fabric is on the floor/table/wherever. Then, do this on both sides and on the long side (that you haven't cut)
Step 4: Once you've done that, start stuffing the seat bit!
Step 5: Now measure out side bits like before, just smaller, and the middle bit!
